The Economy is Fundamentally Sound

Local furniture store, national brand, that opened about 1 year ago along a road that's been designated as a 'home furnishings' destination. About five miles or so from the Countrywide national headquarters.

I don't have to read the papers, online or off, to know which way the wind blows. I just take a little drive around the neighborhood.

But if you need more convincing, check out the front page of today's LA Times, just above the fold - Long, dark tunnel seen for California's economy.

I don't beleive the economy is fundamental sound. I beleive, that basically, far too much of what we call "the economy" is based on flim flam. Far to much sizzle and no steak. If 700 billion dollars would make things better for the American ( O.K. let's just say North American) I would be happy to contribute. Alas, I fear it would just contribute to the Flim Flam artists pocket books - and not the people the economy should be based on.

I think I will invest in my Winter wood, and plant a bigger garden next year.

Hello Ablom: thanks for your comment. I don't think we've seen the bottom yet. We're letting our backyard grass die so we can convert it to food. Visit again.
